#riboyshome

the title says it all.

GOD IS SO GOOD.

we want to take a minute & say THANK YOU to every single person that gave your hard earned money to RI to make this boys home possible. we have all cried many tears of just being blown away & thankfulness.

the fact that we just started this thing wanting to do honest work in haiti & that we have so many amazing supporters is incredible. our dream of our school & our home for children has started a little early. boys that we have known for years needed our help & we took a step of faith & you guys came in & blew us away. NOW we have a house for them. a house mom that will take care of them. they will get good meals including the fruit from our land in mirebalais where our school will be one day. they will have a shower which they have never had. they will have a working toilet which they have never had. they will have a comfortable bed with a pillow. they will have a closet to put their things. things that no one can take away from them.

can you even imagine that?

these children have seen & been through things NO ONE should ever have to endure. they are respectful. they are smart. they have dreams to be lawyers, dentist, doctors, pastors, soccer players & with Gods help we will help them achieve those dreams. GOD IS SO GOOD.

we cannot even begin to tell you how excited we are for this.

UPDATE:

we sign the contract for the home today! (monday)

the guy who owns the house gave us a deal- he marked the house down $2000 so instead of us paying $10,000 for the year we are paying $8000.

we raised the initial $5000 to sign the contract & he is letting us pay the rest in july! so instead of using our fees for a hotel we are able to use them to pay the rest of the house off!!

NEST STEP: we have to have beds in the house before the government will give us our papers to take children in. SO. we have found an awesome company in haiti with great prices. the bunk beds are $286 & that comes with a mattress. they also come apart in case they want like a twin bed.

*this is one of the bedrooms with closets

*one of the 3 bathrooms

*upstairs area that will be used as a sitting room

*another bathroom

*we have FANS!

*another bedroom with closets

*our kitchen - it has a sink!

STAFF: alix's mother will be living their with the boys to take care of them just like any mama would do. we will also have a man living on the property to take open the gate, to take care of things on the property.

HOW GOOD IS GOOD! we are literally coming into an empty house & making it a comfy home for these amazing boys. i will be adding photos to this post later to show you the house & the boys!

continue to pray for us. continue to pray that we get the money for the beds. if you are wanting to donate towards the beds our PayPal is revelatorinternational@gmail.com - just put in the note riboyshome bed

we know this is a HUGE thing for you to give to this. PLEASE know how appreciative we are. without our sponsors we couldn't do what we do. if you are interested in coming & seeing our boys home email us! revelatorinternational@gmail.com

belong.

this song, "build my life" has been my heart for a few weeks now. i wondered why it was stuck in my head day after day - then i went to haiti this last trip & i knew why. God has a sweet way of reminding us of TRUTH when times are really tough. this is our first post as RI on a blog & def. will not be our last. usually we would probably write about who we are, who is on our board, why we do what we do but instead i want to just share about what is going on. this last trip to haiti was rough for my spirit. rough for my heart. new kids. sad stories. kids who have been there. things being taken from them. lies. deception. tears. a longing to be loved. need. urgency. so many emotions. my brain is filled with a jumbled mess of figuring out ways to get money FAST. there are so many children in need. so many children longing to be cared for. to be loved. to belong. sometimes i want to yell at God & say WHY? God, HOW did this happen. i loo...

haiti june 2019.

FINALLY! i spent a long weekend with the boys & it was SO NEEDED. they have grown so much & i was so insanely happy to see them. not in a photo or video but with my own eyes. let me just tell you getting there was something else. 8 months since my feet were on haitian soil & if you know me you know that is a LONG TIME. the day cory took me to the airport i accidentally left my phone in the car, the incredible ticket agent allowed me to use her phone to call him (insert praise hands) on his way home our car went crazy & stopped right in front of a library so he just coasted in (insert praise hands again). he is literally on the phone with me telling me everything as I am about to board the plane, i was like get behind me devil. an uber driver, a good friend, a tow truck, cory's step dad & an alternator later the car was good to go. when i walked into the house my heart was just overcome with thankfulness. yes we still need to raise $4000 before august ...

august happenings.

you guys I have 3 words for you, GOD IS GOOD. thanks to so many amazing supporters our rent is paid in full for the year for the #riboyshome we could not do what we do without your prayers & donations. you are all apart of our #rifamily & we are so blessed to have you.  SO MANY THINGS to tell all of you. we were in haiti 3 weeks ago & went with expectant hearts ready to get to work. we were so blessed to have ali come again (this was her 2nd trip) & I know the boys were so excited to see her. she prepared lessons for the kiddos at CAD & our #riboyshome boys. she spoke about Gods plan & purpose for our lives. she spoke about a time line of our day & how we can incorporate God in that time line & how we can show God to others. such a good reminder for us all! we were able to spend 2 days at CAD & were so happy. we were able to teach them how to play volleyball.  we were also able to bring mangoes from our pro...
